Artificial intelligence remained at the center of investor interest during the first week of June. At the same time, renewable energy and energy service providers remained under pressure, while healthcare and defense stocks benefited from stable demand.

Portfolio restructuring continued

Change is the only constant. The UMBRELLA Strategy continued the realignment last week. The positions in NextEra Energy and SLB (Schlumberger) were sold completely, while Nordex was reduced.

The freed-up capital was deployed into Microsoft, IBM and Palantir Technologies . This increased UMBRELLA’s exposure toward artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, quantum computing, and data analytics.

Technology in focus

Microsoft, IBM, Apple, Palantir Technologies and Tesla remained at the center of investor interest. The increasing integration of AI into business processes, software solutions, and cloud services continues to provide tailwind.

Palantir Technologies remains one of the most direct beneficiaries of the AI trend in the portfolio but showed sideways movement in the chart. Tesla continues to combine multiple structural growth themes such as automation, robotics, energy storage, and artificial intelligence.

Healthcare and defense remain pillars

Eli Lilly was once again among the strongest performers. High demand for medications treating obesity and diabetes continues to support growth expectations in the healthcare sector.

Rheinmetall benefits from rising defense spending in Europe and remains attractively positioned in a geopolitically tense environment. However, the company’s share price remained caught in a downward movement.

Energy remains fundamentally attractive

Occidental Petroleum and ConocoPhillips continue to benefit from solid fundamentals in the energy sector, even though investor interest currently remains limited. The sale of SLB (Schlumberger) primarily reflects the stronger focus on technology-driven growth themes.

Positioning of the UMBRELLA Strategy

Following the recent adjustments, the emphasis is somewhat stronger on technology and AI, healthcare innovation, defense, and selected energy investments.

Conclusion

Global capital flows have concentrated in recent months seemingly exclusively on companies with direct AI exposure. The healthcare sector and defense could on the other hand develop catch-up potential. The UMBRELLA Strategy has positioned itself accordingly.
