Revolution Medicines has reached another regulatory milestone with RASONQUE™ (Daraxonrasib). The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted RASONQUE, in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel, Breakthrough Therapy designation for first-line treatment of metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Revolution Medicines remains part of the UMBRELLA Strategy.

FDA designation shifts focus to first-line treatment in pancreatic cancer

The new Breakthrough Therapy designation covers RASONQUE in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel (GnP) in patients with metastatic ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas who have not previously received treatment for metastatic disease.

The designation is intended to facilitate—and potentially accelerate—the development and review of therapies for serious conditions when preliminary clinical data indicate a substantial improvement over existing treatment options.

Importantly, Breakthrough Therapy designation does not constitute approval of RASONQUE for first-line treatment.

For Revolution Medicines, this is already the third Breakthrough Therapy designation for RASONQUE and the fifth within the RAS(ON) inhibitor portfolio.
