Google Cloud doubles revenue

Group revenue rose 25% to $127.6 billion. Google Services generated $96.3 billion (+11%), while Google Cloud stood out with 103% growth to $30.7 billion.

Operating income increased 30% to $40.6 billion. At the same time, net income fell 25% to $26.2 billion. Diluted earnings per share came in at $2.12.

Investments in data centers, AI infrastructure, and in-house TPU systems weighed on free cash flow, which came in at around −$9.1 billion for the quarter.

Chart Analysis: Sharp correction after the quarterly results

On October 29, Alphabet shares (GOOGL) fell 12.64% and closed at $283.82. This put the stock well below the $324.89 close prior to the release.

The price decline occurred with a downward gap. On October 30, the stock closed at USD 279.84, once again below the previous low.

From a technical analysis perspective, this development signals ongoing selling pressure.

As long as a sustained recovery fails to materialize, the short-term price outlook remains weighed down.

Significance for the UMBRELLA Strategy

Alphabet remains an important representative of AI infrastructure within the UMBRELLA strategy. The strong Cloud development underscores the growth potential, while high investments affect short-term profitability and cash flow development.

Key takeaway: Alphabet delivered 25% revenue growth in the third quarter of 2026 and a doubling of cloud revenue. However, heavy investment in AI infrastructure weighs on free cash flow and leads to a sharp price correction despite strong operating results.
