Revolution Medicines reaches major milestone, PayPal under pressure

The past week was primarily characterized by company-specific news and resulting adjustments.

The most important news came from Revolution Medicines: The FDA granted approval for RASONQUE (daraxonrasib) for certain patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer. For the biotechnology company, this approval marks an important transition from clinical development to commercialization.

At the same time, PayPal was added as a new position to the MUMAK UMBRELLA strategy. Shortly thereafter, however, the share price came under significant pressure following reports that Stripe and Advent International are no longer pursuing their takeover plans.

Against this backdrop, several adjustments were made. MercadoLibre and Palantir were increased, Apple was sold completely, and Eli Lilly was partially reduced.

Development of the UMBRELLA Strategy

Revolution Medicines enters a new phase

Revolution Medicines reached one of the most important milestones in its corporate development to date.

On August 26, the FDA granted approval for RASONQUE (daraxonrasib) for certain adults with metastatic pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. The approval is based on the Phase 3 RASolute 302 study and is the first approval of a proprietary drug for Revolution Medicines.

The focus is thus increasingly shifting from regulatory approval to commercial implementation. RASONQUE is already available for eligible patients in the US.

Within the UMBRELLA strategy, Revolution Medicines remains the most important position.

PayPal added – and under pressure

PayPal was newly added to the UMBRELLA strategy last week and was intended to complement the focus on digital payments and financial technology.

However, the situation changed shortly after its inclusion following reports suggesting that Stripe and Advent International have ended their plans for a takeover of PayPal.

The stock reacted with significant price losses, leading to a reduction in the position.

With the end of takeover speculation, PayPal’s independent operational development now returns to the fore. Growth, competitive positioning, and profitability are becoming increasingly relevant. It remains to be seen how the stock performs in the coming days.

Palantir increased further

The situation is quite different for Palantir. The company was further increased during the week.

Palantir combines several structural themes within the UMBRELLA strategy, particularly artificial intelligence, data analysis, and applications for government and defense customers. Operational growth and demand for AI applications continue to support the fundamental picture.

MercadoLibre position also remains exciting

The ‘Amazon of Latin America’ is benefiting from the structural growth of e-commerce and digital financial services in Central and South America. Following the volatility after the recent quarterly figures, the technical picture has also improved recently.

European defense remains an important theme

Rheinmetall, Thales and TKMS continue to represent the focus on European defense within the UMBRELLA strategy.

However, the weaker performance of recent weeks seems to be persisting. The focus is now on the interplay between the structurally supportive industry environment and short-term technical dynamics.

Even though higher European defense spending and high order backlogs continue to form the fundamental basis for the sector, stop-loss levels will inevitably be triggered if prices continue to move in the wrong direction.

Adjustments to the UMBRELLA Strategy

PayPal was added as a new position on Wednesday, but was already partially reduced following the significant price decline on Friday, August 28, 2026.

MercadoLibre and Palantir were increased, thereby strengthening the focus on digital commerce, financial technology, and artificial intelligence.

At the same time, Apple was completely removed from the strategy and placed on the watchlist following recent positive price performance. Eli Lilly was partially reduced after its strong performance. The intention here was to secure capital gains.

The cash allocation remains at approximately 0.6%.

Outlook for the coming week

For Revolution Medicines, the focus now turns to the market launch of RASONQUE and initial indications of market acceptance following FDA approval. Can the company benefit, or will there be stronger profit-taking?

For PayPal, operational development returns to center stage following the end of takeover speculation. After the significant price reaction, market sentiment and a possible technical stabilization also remain important factors to watch.

Palantir and MercadoLibre remain in focus following the recent increases, while the development of Rheinmetall, Thales and TKMS continues to shape the focus on European defense.

We are also following developments surrounding SpaceX.

The focus of the UMBRELLA strategy remains on healthcare innovation, European defense, artificial intelligence, and future technologies, supplemented by selected positions in digital commerce and financial technology.

Corporate developments, market sentiment, valuation, and technical signals remain decisive.

We monitor these factors continuously.
