Financial journalism and market insights on the go: In the podcast "Umbrella Inside", Richard Dobetsberger regularly takes you behind the scenes of his strategies. Here, current economic news is dissected, the psychology of trading is discussed, and deeper insights into the famous Umbrella strategy are provided.
In episode 17, we introduce Lina Mosentseva, whom we have mentioned several times in the mumak.me context. Lina is also taking on the Opening Bell for the Vienna Stock Exchange Party today, on the public holiday on which trading takes place. This time, there has been a five-week gap since the previous episode. Conclusion: the energy focus remains, but it is no longer quite as “pure” as it was the month before. And four new holdings are also presented.
In episode 15, we talk about the shift “Pretty much all-in on energy”—now it is not just pretty much, but fully in that direction. We explain which eight holdings are in the selection as of the cut-off date, with a focus on oil and gas companies. There are also spoilers for April 17: Umbrella Austria as the key phrase.
The days so far in March have brought the biggest shift in portfolio composition since the pandemic. Ritschy is now betting on oil and explains exactly why; which specific holdings are involved is discussed in the podcast. The cash allocation is also at a record-high level. On Saturday, you can meet Ritschy in person at Börsentag Vienna.
It was a difficult month; the January gains had to be given back. There was a strategy stress test with a stop-loss wave, a high in trading volume, as well as an increase in assets under management and a temporarily higher cash allocation. Of course, we also talk about the newcomers Deutsche Post and BHP, as well as the sales of Novo Nordisk and Barrick Mining.
Starting point: 2025 is done at +22%, 2026 is already at +3%. We have four new holdings vs. the December podcast, present them, and derive that this wikifolio essentially starts at 100 (percent) every day because the composition can change from one day to the next. The historical performance basically only shows the evaluation/bottom line of past trades by the trader.
