Palantir<\/strong> has entered a more volatile phase after the strong performance in August. After the stock approached the USD 188<\/strong> level, it came under significant pressure in early September before recovering again today.<\/p>

The latest move comes just a few days after our updated valuation analysis. In it, the technical picture remained positive; at the same time, however, we pointed to the increasingly high expectations that are already reflected in Palantir\u2019s valuation<\/strong>.<\/p>

The recent volatility highlights exactly this tension: Palantir continues to deliver exceptionally strong operating growth, but the high valuation makes the stock particularly vulnerable to shifts in market sentiment.<\/strong><\/p>

Strong rebound after the pullback<\/h2>

After a decline of around 6% on Wednesday<\/strong>, Palantir rebounded sharply on Thursday, recouping a large part of the prior losses. The stock climbed back above USD 180<\/strong>.<\/p>

Part of the move is likely due to a technical rebound after the sharp pullback. On a short-term basis, momentum indicators had previously fallen into oversold territory<\/strong>.<\/p>

Nothing has changed in the broader fundamental picture.<\/p>

Strong fundamentals meet elevated expectations<\/h2>

Palantir’s latest quarterly figures continue to form a strong fundamental basis.<\/p>

In Q2 2026<\/strong>, revenue rose 93% year over year to USD 1.94 billion<\/strong>, while adjusted operating profit increased by 159%<\/strong>.<\/p>

Palantir also raised its full-year outlook. For 2026, revenue growth of around 82%<\/strong> is now expected.<\/p>

This exceptional growth explains a large part of the positive market sentiment surrounding Palantir. At the same time, it also creates the company’s biggest challenge: expectations are already very high.<\/strong><\/p>

As already highlighted in our valuation analysis, Palantir is valued at a significant premium compared to other software companies.<\/p>

Analysts remain positive<\/h2>

The analyst picture has improved since our last analysis in August.<\/p>

In our update of September 1<\/strong><\/a>, the average recommendation improved from ADD to BUY<\/strong>. However, the strong rise in Palantir shares had already significantly reduced the upside to the average analyst price target.<\/p>
