Despite some easing following the military conflict between Israel and Iran and US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, the Middle East remains a significant uncertainty factor for financial markets. At the same time, rising defense spending worldwide supports the long-term prospects of companies in the security and defense sectors. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

Against this backdrop, the earnings season once again showed how selectively capital markets are currently acting. Numerous companies impressed with strong operating results, yet price reactions varied significantly. While <\/span>Amazon <\/span><\/b><\/a>was able to gain significantly following convincing quarterly figures, <\/span>Apple <\/span><\/b><\/a>came under pressure despite the strongest June quarter in its corporate history. This confirmed once again that good results alone are often not enough on the stock market.
